The Black Russian Settles an Ancient Dispute: House of the Beast 2

THE BLACK RUSSIAN heads NORTH to investigate the RUCKUS.



Rough stone steps have been carved into the side of the CLIFF. THE BLACK RUSSIAN dismounts and climbs to investigate the source of the disturbance.



A strange scene comes into view:



At the top of the cliff, a CRAB and a STINGING LOBSTER are engaged in furious combat. Mighty blows are dealt and parried, sparks fly from chitinous plates, and the earth shakes as the two pint-size combatants duel for ownership of a FRIED TURKEY LEG.



"THIEF!" cries the CRAB.

"MISER!" cries the STINGING LOBSTER.



Behind the violent melee, a wooden ladder leads up to the top of an ancient watchtower.



What will THE BLACK RUSSIAN do?



Approach the duel and…


1. Come in on the side of the CRAB.

2. Come in on the side of the STINGING LOBSTER.

3. Steal the FRIED TURKEY LEG for yourself.

4. Use your sword to perfectly SPLIT the FRIED TURKEY LEG into two equal pieces, one for each combatant.

5. Walk past to climb the LADDER to the top of the WATCHTOWER.

 

Or return to your horse and pursue a previous option...

 

Head EAST and…


6. Pick some mushrooms in the MUSHROOM FIELD.

7. Wake up the SLEEPING MAN and ask him if he knows anything about FYODOR's murder.

8. Steal the SLEEPING MAN's crate of SNACKS.

9. Follow the cobblestone road FAR EAST, past the MUSHROOM FIELD, and investigate the movement on the other side of the KEEP and in the PASS.

Head SOUTH and…


10. Investigate the BURIAL MOUND. It's the wind that's making that GROANING noise, right? Right?

11. Cross the SOUTHERN ROAD and try to find out what's moving in the JUNGLE.

12. Follow the SOUTHERN ROAD and see if those distant cries really were just the wind.

LORD JARRITOS calls for the distant SWORD MONKEY! Hearing that it's murderous services are required, the SWORD MONKEY nimbly dashes across the ruins and leaps onto LORD JARRITOS supersweet CANNON CHARIOT.   With its new simian crew member, the CANNON CHARIOT is more deadly than ever (+ 2 dice). However, LORD JARRITOS'S enemies have had time to regroup – in the field in front of him, he sees the strange SNAKE WOMAN march her troops out of the JUNGLE and into the FIELD, where they come face-to-face with the CANNIBALS. THE BLACK RUSSIAN doesn't have time to mince words. He shouts his warning to MASTER MENDICANT, and then wheels around and charges the CRUSADERS, waving for the KING OF STINGING LOBSTERS to flank them! His valiant steed leaps over the surprised heads of the ensorcled BLUE BASHERS and smashes into the unsuspecting CRUSADER CAVALRY! The crash of the impact rings across the battlefield! THE BLACK RUSSIAN is thrown from his horse! The CRUSADER KNIGHT flies backwards, armor shattering to pieces! The BLUE BASHERS finish him off before he can get to his feet… THE BLACK RUSSIAN leaps back onto his noble steed and takes stock of the situation. Behind him, the remaining CRUSADER KNIGHTS face off against – a SKELETON HORDE and some kind of MONSTROUS BUTLER?
